Childhood is often described as a time of play. For many children NiVan Foundation meets, play is shortened by hunger, untreated weakness, and a home with no books, puzzles, or simple games that teach the hands and the mind to work together. A child who is hungry cannot concentrate. A child who has never held a puzzle may enter school already behind, not because of ability, but because no one put the right tools in reach.

Udaan means flight. This campaign is a practical first runway: a Child Development Kit for underprivileged children identified as lacking basic developmental resources. Each kit is a package, not a single toy dropped and forgotten. It brings together nutrition support, simple health items appropriate to the child's age, and learning games that parents and older siblings can use at home. The kit is a bridge between a difficult household and a child who still deserves curiosity.

Identification matters. We work with families, anganwadi workers, schools, and community volunteers to find children who are missing these basics, not to create a photo moment. Where a child needs medical care beyond a kit, we refer. Where a family needs counselling or livelihood support, we connect them to other NiVan programmes. The kit is the start of a relationship, not the whole story.

Your donation fills a bag with things that seem small until they are missing: nourishing food support, hygiene and health basics, and games that make learning feel like play. When a child has enough in the body and something interesting in the hands, confidence has a place to grow. That is Udaan at its most concrete: a kit, a child, and adults who notice.

The need

Many underprivileged children lack adequate nutrition, basic health support, and simple learning materials at home. The children affected are of early and primary-school age in low-income households, where money goes to rent and grain before books or games. Without these building blocks, children arrive at school tired, unwell, or unprepared. A combined kit is necessary because nutrition, health, and play-based learning work together. One notebook cannot fix hunger, and one meal cannot teach a skill.

How your gift helps

Donations assemble and deliver Child Development Kits: nutrition support, age-appropriate health and hygiene basics, and learning games. Funds also cover identification visits, kit packing, and a short guidance session so a parent or caregiver knows how to use the games and food support well. A share pays for follow-up to see whether the child is using the kit and whether further referral is needed. Remaining funds handle transport and coordination. Money becomes a complete package in a child's hands, not three disconnected gifts.

Expected impact

We aim to provide 200 Child Development Kits to identified children. Each kit includes nutrition support, health basics, and learning games. We will hold guidance sessions for about 200 caregivers and complete follow-up with at least 120 households. Where needed, children will be referred for further health or learning support. Success is measured in kits delivered, caregivers who receive guidance, and children who remain in follow-up rather than disappearing after a one-time distribution.
